Development Legals
In the creation and establishment of Wave House Sentosa, Tan Xu Teng was the lead lawyer on the transaction, negotiating with Sentosa Development Corporation on the Definitive Agreements on the deal, including the (i) Development and Tenancy Agreement; (i) the Equipment Purchase Agreement; (iii) the Global Licence Agreement; (iv) the sub-lease with Billabong; and (v) the sub-lease for Sea-Breeze Water-Sports.
Operational Legals
During Wave House Sentosa’s 10 years of operations, Tan Xu Teng as their in-house counsel prepared or reviewed all contracts and agreements that the business had to enter into.
Regulatory Compliance
Wave House Sentosa being classified as an amusement ride, was heavily regulated by the Amusement Rides Division of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) of Singapore. Tan Xu Teng handled all the regulatory and compliance matters for the business to ensure that the wave machines were issued their required (i) Installation Permit; and (ii) Operating Permit and all the continuing compliances that were required thereunder.
New Projects Legals
During the 10 years, Wave House Sentosa’s was purchased and implemented in other parts of the world. Tan Xu Teng undertook the negotiations, sales, documentation, and oversaw the implementation of these projects, such as the Flow Barrel and Flow Riders in Ji Hua Park in Chongqing.
Finance and Book-Keeping
Members of the current Evolette Locin team undertook the book-keeping services and managed the audit process of the various Wave House entities such as Wave House Singapore, Wave House Sentosa, Wave House Global, Wave House International.
Human Resources
Members of the current Evolette Locin team undertook all of the Human Resources functions for all of the Wave House entities, which included more that 20 full-time staff and hundreds of part-timers and casual labour for large scale events and parties that were hosted at Wave House Sentosa almost on a weekly basis.
Event Management
Members of the current Evolette Locin team undertook all of the Event Company functions for Wave House. As the 70,000 sq ft premier beachfront recreational facility in Singapore, Wave House Sentosa was a well-known and popular MICE destination. Wave House Sentosa had its own in-house events team, constantly organising corporate events of 50 – 2,000 guests, International DJ Music Festivals and Parties, Pop and Hip-Hop concerts, and Children’s Birthday Party Events.
Operations
Members of the current Evolette Locin team undertook the implementation and supervision all of the operations for the Restaurant and Grill, as well as the Beachfront Bars at Wave House Sentosa. They also undertook all of the implementation and supervision of all the Reception, Check-In and wave ride operations and maintenance functions for Wave House Sentosa.
Marketing
Members of the current Evolette Locin team also undertook the marketing of Wave House Sentosa for its six distinct business segments – wave rides, restaurant and bar, corporate events, concerts, clubbing events and children’s birthday parties.
Online Presence
From managing the Wave House Sentosa website, social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook (growing it to 40,000 followers), it’s CRM (growing it to 50,000 emails list), and managing recommendation platforms such as Chope, Quandoo, TripAdvisor and 大众点评. The team also constantly worked with media outlets and influencers to raise the profile and public awareness of Wave House to keep it as a top of mind recall for local consumers and tourists alike. Wave House Sentosa won many industry awards including at the Singapore Tourism Board Experience Awards, as well of those of several entertainment and leisure magazines such as IS Weekly (now SG magazine).
